Flashpoint Academy in Chicago will introduce a two-year program for broadcast media in addition to its other digital disciplines of film, recording arts, visual effects/animation and game development.
Pro Sound News reported the announcement. According to Flashpoint, the curriculum recognizes the convergence of digital entertainment industries.
“The digital revolution is about reinventing the art of visual storytelling and Flashpoint’s Broadcast Media students will be immersed in the latest forms of HD production, streaming media, podcasting, interactive television, virtual set design, vlogs, RSS feeds, avatars and emergent forms of digital distribution,” according to the statement.
Paula Froehle is academic dean of Flashpoint Academy, located in Chicago’s Loop.
