Gordon Jump, WKRP’s GM, Remembered

He was a TV actor but he was part of the radio family.
Gordon Jump, the actor who played station manager Arthur Carlson on the show “WKRP in Cincinnati,” died Monday at age 71, according to CNN. He also was familiar to recent TV viewers as the Maytag repairman, although he was not the first to play that role.
The actor did in fact work at radio and TV stations in the Midwest early in his career, and reportedly loved theater work as well.
He suffered from pulmonary fibrosis.
