Alert FM is now carried on subcarriers of 450 or so stations

Global Security Systems inked a deal with Educational Media Foundation and its stations in the K-Love and Air1 networks, in which EMF will implement Alert FM.

GSS says this will double the number of locations where its alerting and messaging system is operational, putting the FM-based system on some 450 radio stations.

Other broadcasters in the GSS network include Commonwealth Broadcasting and The Cromwell Group.

Alert FM uses uses RBDS FM subcarrier signals to deliver alert messages to specially equipped receivers.

Sam Wallington is VP of engineering for Educational Media Foundation. Robert Adams is president/CEO of GSS. They made the announcement.
