AM Self-Inspection Guide Is Now Available

It is free for NAB and SBE members

AM broadcasters in the United States: You now have access to a self-inspection guide that can help you stay out of trouble with FCC rules compliance.

The National Association of Broadcasters and the Society of Broadcast Engineers are publishing a series of guides and have now issued the AM edition.

Editions for FM and TV stations were released last spring. Guides for low-power and translator stations are in the works.

“These tools are designed to help broadcasters effectively conduct self-inspections and ensure compliance with federal regulations,” NAB said in a press release. They also help inspectors who participate in the Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program.

The guides are available for free to NAB and SBE members via member pages of their respective websites.

For many years the FCC published self-inspection checklists but they were not kept current with subsequent rule changes over the past two decades.
