Xperi said its DTS AutoStage system is now deployed in more than 8 million vehicles in 146 countries.
That number has doubled since last August; the fast pace of the rollout is possible in part because of the ability of carmakers now to update their infotainment systems via remote software installation.
Xperi also said more than 5 million vehicles in North America now include both AutoStage and HD Radio.
CEO Jon Kirchner said that in the quarter, Xperi also was awarded its second DTS AutoStage video design “win” by a Japanese automotive OEM, with deployments expected to begin in 2025, and had signed a new AutoStage license agreement with an American car company.
“HD Radio is now being deployed in new models from Ford, Cadillac, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Genesis, BMW, Nissan, and Aston Martin,” he said.
The company this week released its quarterly financial report.
The connected car segment is one part of Xperi’s business. It also has a smart TV platform segment as well as pay TV and consumer electronics businesses.
The company reported revenue in the quarter of $132.9 million, with a net loss of $16.8 million. Last year it lost $41.4 million in the quarter.
