HHB FlashMic Lineup Expands

HHB has introduced FlashMic DRM85LI and DRM85-CLI, two new models of its digital recording microphone.

HHB has introduced FlashMic DRM85LI and DRM85-CLI, two new models of its digital recording microphone.

The move, the company says, provides journalists with line input-equipped versions of the omnidirectional and cardioid FlashMics. When in use, the line input disables the mic capsule and when an event ends, journalists unplug the feed and are ready to record their own commentary or interviews.

Both new FlashMics feature a bantam TT jack input on the base of the mic body. An XLR to bantam jack cable is supplied, which, when connected, switches out the mic signal, recording only the line input signal.

Also new for the FlashMic is MP3 compatibility. FlashMic recordings can be converted to MP3 using the included FlashMic Manager Mac/PC software. Existing users can download the update for free at www.flashmic.info.

Additionally, HHB has expanded its professional recording media range with five products: the HHB CDR80HS 2×–52× high-speed CD-R discs; and three HHB CFPRO high-speed CompactFlash cards that the company says are media optimized.

The CFPRO 1, 2 and 8 cards feature fast ATA host-to-buffer transfer rates supporting PIO 4 in true IDE mode, and an error protection code and wear-leveling algorithm.
