The 61st IEEE Broadcast Symposium begins today; Radio World is on-site.
Bob Surette of Shively Labs moderates an HD Radio tutorial today from 1 to 5 p.m. Topics include HF HD measurement, Artist Experience and FCC rule changes affecting broadcast link design, as well as an update on environmental due diligence for tower siting.
Thursday’s topics include RF infrastructure, FM transmitter cooling techniques, FM transmission using asymmetrical HD sidebands, as well as Brazil AM/FM HD Radio test results and efficiency enhancement technology for linear RF power amplification.
FCC Media Bureau Chief Peter Doyle is the scheduled lunch speaker Thursday.
The event continues through Friday at the Westin Alexandria Hotel in Alexandria, Va.
For the first time, as we’ve reported, the IEEE is offering a virtual attendance option for the broadcast symposium.
Virtual attendees can join live sessions as their schedules permit and access on-demand sessions as desired (after the event). Virtual attendees can network with each other, download material, and participate in Q&A during the live broadcast.
