Commercial radio saw a modest number of transactions in June, with 19 stations sold, according to an analysis by BIA Advisory Services.
The transactions totaled approximately $11.5 million, BIA reported.
BIA noted that the deal activity reflects the market’s general emphasis on carefully selected opportunities.
“Although transaction volume remains below historical peaks, the market continues to demonstrate confidence in well-positioned local broadcast properties,” BIA’s Mark Dugan wrote in a July 23 blog post.
Rick Ducey, BIA’s managing director, added in an interview with Inside Radio that buyers are increasingly acquiring stations that fit existing regional strategies rather than pursuing broad expansion,
June’s largest radio transactions
- KGSR(FM) in Austin, Texas: Acquired by Norsen Consulting and Management from Sinclair Telecable’s Waterloo Media Group for $3.5 million.
- WZBA(FM) in Baltimore, Md.: Purchased by K-Love from Times-Shamrock Communications for $2.7 million.
- WWKL(FM) in Harrisburg, Pa. and WLLF(FM) Mercer, Pa.: Acquired by Family Life Ministries from Cumulus Media for $2.25 million.
Largest radio transactions of 2026 (Year-to-date)
The year’s largest radio deals are:
- Urban One acquired KKDA(FM) and KRNB(FM) in Dallas-Fort Worth from Service Broadcasting Group for $22 million.
- MARC Radio Group acquired three Florida stations in Winter Haven, Lakeland and Auburndale from Hall Communications for $9 million.
- Arkansas River Valley Radio acquired 11 stations from Bobby Caldwell for $6.6 million.
Meanwhile, broadcast television activity remained quiet in June, with just two Class A station sales, BIA said.
The year’s largest television transactions continue to reflect the significant consolidation announced earlier in 2026, the firm noted.
