In a follow-up to an earlier story, Kenwood and JVC now have an agreement to join their car electronics and home/portable audio businesses in 2008, in what may lead to a full-fledged merger down the road.
Kenwood stated in the announcement it has been reviewing its options and believes that in mature industries with fierce competition, parties that align can achieve faster growth than if they had remained separate.
The agreement covers integration of capital, businesses and management.
