The National Association of Broadcasters is teaming up with NewBay Media, parent of publications such as Radio World, TV Tech and Broadcasting & Cable, to create an online broadcaster community called Connect 2 Media & Entertainment.
Chris Brown, NAB executive vice president of Conventions and Business Operations, said in the announcement, “Connect 2 ME will serve as a vehicle to continue and enhance conversations started on-site at the NAB Show to 365 days a year.”
Launching in March and to become fully active for the upcoming convention in April, Connect 2 ME will use various digital communications tools, starting with a website. Social media, mobile editions, blogs and enewsletters will be added to the Connect 2 ME digital ecosystem. Content will include “news, features, commentary, trends and relevant reader engagement opportunities with separate areas dedicated to creative, business and technology sectors,” according to a release.
NewBay Media Executive Vice President Carmel King explained, “The new community will offer media and entertainment professionals a single, digital media platform to keep up with technical trends that affect them — in TV, video, audio, radio, mobile, online video, digital media, telepresence, enterprise, film, AV, post and beyond.”
