NATE Schedules Safety Strategy Webinar

Ed Foulke to present ways to improve safety and profit

The National Association of Tower Erectors has scheduled a safety-oriented webinar for March 24, 11 a.m.–noon.

To be conducted by Ed Foulke, partner at Fisher & Phillips, a release explains, “If OSHA has fallen off your radar screen, it is time to put it back on. All employers are seeing a continued shift away from OSHA’s emphasis on cooperative efforts with employers to a more aggressive enforcement approach. The number of OSHA penalties in the tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars has significantly increased in the past year.”

Foulke and the webinar will examine “the new enforcement-focused OSHA and new special emphasis programs including the Severe Violators Enforcement Program as well as safety legislation changes currently being debated in Congress.”

In addition, it will “review the essential elements of OSHA compliance and an effective workplace safety and health program, with an eye to preparing for increased civil and criminal enforcement, as well as the use of safety issues by unions and a growing group of whistleblowers.”

Best of all, however, it will also “explain how, when used properly, safety compliance can be a ‘profit center’ and not another administrative cost.”
