The Azerbaijani-language services of the Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty launched a 24/7 FM broadcast stream to the Azerbaijani capital of Baku on New Year’s, VOA said.
The new station, Baku 101.7 FM, is heard in the city and its suburbs, where about 40% of Azerbaijan’s population lives.
VOA and RFE/RL programming alternate through the day. The RFE/RL service there is called Radio Azadliq.
“In addition to 101.7 FM in Baku and environs, VOA Azerbaijani programming can also be heard via medium wave around the country on 1296 kHz,” the organization stated.
