The New York Festivals appointed a new competition director.
The awards company runs the NYF Radio Broadcasting competition; it named Leslie Rasimas to the post. Rasimas was NYF international development manager for a few months and before that the international representative manager for the Clio Awards.
The 2008 competition closes March 17. Winners will be honored in June at a Manhattan ceremony.
Organization officials said the move is aimed at providing more energy and fresh ideas into the competition. Entry and judging procedures have been upgraded; more work will be judged online, allowing the international jury to rate the work more easily and limit undue influence from other jury members. Work may be uploaded through the competition’s FTP site. Also a new student category has been added.
