Pandora announced that it has struck a deal with Toyota to integrate its streaming radio app into new models of Toyotas in Australia, making up nearly two-thirds of all new vehicles shipped in the country. Toyota owners can access Pandora starting this month.
Models that feature Toyota Link will be able to stream Pandora via drivers’ smartphones. When connected to the vehicle via Bluetooth, a listener’s Pandora account is replicated from the handset to the cars head-unit. Pandora explains that features like the ability to create new stations, thumb up or thumb down tracks, and access up to 100 personalized stations are available in the new models. Previously created stations will also appear under a “Your Stations” tab, it adds.
Pandora says that it is looking to expand its presence in cars with other automotive partners later this year.
