Several competitors in the online audio space are cooperating to help sell more advertising.
Pandora led a triumvirate that includes TuneIn and AccuRadio in development of a broadcast and digital audio network.
The Harmonic Audio Network says it offers exclusive inventory among the partners and is designed to keep ad frequency at a minimum to avoid repetition. The network also works to prevent audio spots running alongside controversial programs or user-generated content.
Network buyers are able to work with Pandora’s sales and client services for placing buys on the network. It is also integrated with buying systems STRATA and Mediaocean under the call letters PHAR-SM for an automated method of purchasing.
