Audio-Technica is expanding its broadcast and production market team with a series of internal promotions.
Longtime employee Gary Dixon has been promoted to the newly-created position of U.S. director of broadcast business development. He will report to Kurt Van Scoy, Audio-Technica’s U.S. vice president of products, business alliances and marketing.
In this role, the company said, Dixon will focus on strengthening relationships and developing new partnerships with broadcasters, production companies, rights holders, channel partners and service providers. He will also work with the company’s product and engineering teams.
Dixon’s 20-year career — 10 of which have been with A-T — includes work in commercial audio markets and system solutions at Audio-Technica and owning his own systems design and installation business.
Additionally, Dixon’s team will be supported by two appointments: Ben Cochran as engineering and technology advisor and Brent Chamberlin as broadcast sales engineer. “This team will have the combined focus and responsibility for the sales, strategy, support and product development for the broadcast division,” the company said in a press release.

Cochran will provide technical direction on new and existing products for professional broadcast. His 10-plus years with the company include product testing and engineering, research and development and membership in various standards committees and new technology organizations. His background is in microphone development and audio-over-IP solutions.
Chamberlin will focus on developing new accounts with broadcasters, production companies, rights holders, channel partners and service providers. His 10-plus years at the company have been focused on technical support of all A-T products.
