Budreau Begins His Tenure With Ohio Broadcasters

New association president is former head of Academy of Model Aeronautics

Chad Budreau

Chad Budreau has begun his work as president of the Ohio Association of Broadcasters.

We reported in October that he had been named to succeed Christine Merritt, who steps down at the end of this month after 22 years in the role. Today is his first day on the job.

Budreau was with the Academy of Model Aeronautics for about 15 years, including six as executive director. “During his tenure at AMA, he successfully navigated an 88-year-old organization through the challenges presented by emerging industries like artificial intelligence and drone technology,” OAB said in an announcement.

“Mr. Budreau brings extensive advocacy experience to OAB, having led legislative efforts at all levels and worked with key regulatory bodies like the FAA, FCC and DHS.” He also has worked at TV and radio stations in Indiana and Ohio.

Budreau received a B.A. from Ball State University and an M.A. from Ohio University. The OAB is based in Columbus.
