iHeartMedia named Uta Knablein as chief product officer for iHeartRadio. She succeeds Chris Williams, who departs after 17 years with the company.
Knablein will report to Conal Byrne, CEO of the company’s Digital Audio Group. Most recently she was executive vice president of iHeartRadio’s “Flagship Products and User Experience.”
Byrne said in the announcement that Knablein “has played a critical role in elevating the user experience through groundbreaking products and features.”
Knablein came to iHeart in 2018, having worked for Nickelodeon Digital, Outbrain, JPMorgan and CNBC. The company cited her “deep expertise in leading teams to create behavior-driven and data-informed products that drive audience growth, user engagement, increased loyalty and revenue.”
Chris Williams wrote on LinkedIn last month that his departure was amicable. “I shared my intentions to resign with iHeart months ago and I’ve continued to work throughout the summer to make this a smooth transition.”
