D&M Professional debuted the Marantz PMD520 handheld digital compact recorder, featuring direct-to-MP3 recording in three quality levels, as well as fully uncompressed 44.1/48 kHz WAV format in 16- or 24-bit resolution.

The PMD620 can be configured for applications such as extended-length voice recordings. Sound quality is enhanced by the inclusion two condenser microphones, as well as line and external mic inputs and an external mic output, according to the company.

The PMD620 also uses Secure Digital flash memory cards for data storage, a first for the PMD series; and it accepts high capacity memory cards.

Additionally, the unit offers one-touch record engagement, using a button with its own tactile feel and red highlight illumination. Transport controls incorporate a thumb-operated scroll wheel and organic LED display screen. The display has a black background so alpha-numeric and function icons are easily read.
