Automation supplier Prophet Systems is adding a new approach in marketing its products, selling its technology “bit by bit.”
The company, owned by Clear Channel, is encouraging station managers and engineers to visit a new Web page to review the benefits of ordering a customized system, buying only what is needed for the station. Its pitch: “You can run your station with $495 worth of software.”
NexGen 101 is a product line designed to run a single radio station. Based on Prophet’s NexGen Digital software, the company says, it targets small stations, Internet radio, noncoms, college stations and LPFMs, among others.
A core license runs a station automated or live assist, and is required of NexGen 101 workstations.
