Ryan Adds WCBS Duties

New York radio vet is new PD for legacy station

Jim Ryan, currently VP adult contemporary programming and program director for WWFS(FM), is adding another CBS Radio duty to his list, that of PD for WCBS(FM). The appointment is immediate.

Ryan is a long-time industry vet having worked at Clear Channel’s New York property WLTW(FM) for a dozen years. He has also been a consultant and worked for stations in Detroit, Denver, Miami, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

In the announcement, Ryan said of the appointment: “In our industry there is no station more storied over the past 40 years than ‘CBS-FM.’ Overseeing the programming of such a renowned radio station in the greatest city in the world is quite simply an honor.”

Brian Thomas, who previously occupied the post, is moving to Tampa to become that market’s VP for programming.
