The 31st Satellite 2012 Conference and Exhibition opened to spring-like weather this week in Washington,attracting 11,000 attendees from 70 countries.
The March 12–15 show is once again collocated with the Mobile Satellite Users Association’s MSUA-9 conference. Attendance is up from last year’s show by some 1,000, and the number of companies showing off developments in antennas, uplink/downlink, compression and allied technologies is also at a record high, with more than 350 exhibitors occupying approximately 70,000 square feet of convention hall floor space
In addition to being a technology showcase, Satellite 2012 features a schedule of presentations, keynotes, workshops, and seminars, covering such topics as business development/client support, interference mitigation, satellite IP networking, disaster recovery, satellite life extension, and spacecraft launch and manufacturing developments.
The show also features several awards presentations and other events, including a silent auction hosted by the Washington Space Business Roundtable organization to fund their scholarship program. A complete schedule and presenter list is available here.
