SBEU Hosts Processing Course

Is there a 'secret sauce' to good broadcast audio processing? Or can it be taught?

Crawford Broadcasting cluster Chief Engineer Stephen Poole in Birmingham, Ala., is the teacher in a new SBE University online course on audio processing. (He’s also a Radio World contributor.)

The course description notes that the practice of broadcast audio processing has changed greatly over the last decade, for a number of reasons. Old lessons need to be unlearned while new practices, made possible by powerful, feature-filled digital processors, need to be explored and learned, SBE suggests.

The course is aimed at intermediate to experienced broadcast engineers and consists of nine chapters. SBE estimates it will take 5 to 8 hours to complete. It qualifies for SBE recertification credit.
