Wheatstone has announced its plans for IBC, and the new VMX virtual mixing platform will be the centerpiece of its exhibits.
IBC 2026 is held Sept. 11–14 at the RAI in Amsterdam.
VMX can be installed on an existing server or appliance and then accessed from a browser on a variety of devices, Wheatstone said. It offers a selection of tiles, including basic utility mixers, a virtual mixing interface as well as virtual broadcast consoles, including for a radio on-air studio.
The platform is AES67-compliant. It is part of Wheatstone’s Layers software-based broadcast suite for virtualizing studio functions as an extension of its WheatNet IP audio network.
The company will demonstrate what it calls the “total mixing experience,” along with virtual and fixed consoles, talent stations and I/O access units at its IBC 2026 show booth.
