Friday is College Radio Day. We invited stations to tell us about their activities.
“UTA Radio will be participating in this year’s College Radio Day by kicking off our annual concert series Rocktober,” writes program Director Lance Liguez. The station is part of the University of Texas at Arlington. “We think it’s a good way to reach out to our student body with the music we play and give local bands an outlet they might not normally have.”
In Hattiesburg, Miss., General Manager Justin Martin says WUSM(FM) will air live music from “three great local artists” in the noon hour, and will note College Radio Day with live mentions and sweepers all day long, as well as “recording all video and audio from our on location events.”
WUSM will also broadcast and record audio and video of a live music performance from Mike Dillon Band from Town Square Park in downtown Hattiesburg in the evening, an event that is expected to draw at least 1,000 people.
We told you earlier about WSOU’s plans in New Jersey; and some 50 stations will take part in the College Radio Day simulcast. How about yours? Email us.
