Symetrix Creates Routing Matrix

Symetrix Creates Routing Matrix

More pre-NAB hardware news…
Symetrix is adding to its AirTools brand with the introduction of the Studio Matrix, a system based on the SymNet Audio Matrix. It promises to meet audio routing and processing requirements of small to medium radio stations and audio-for-video production facilities.
Systems are created by networking redundant pairs of 1U DSP-drive devices. This allows for hundreds of input and output signals to enter the systems and be routed. Interconnect between devices is provided by low-latency audio bus technology that allows on-demand routing between any two points in a system.
Each network devices uses two SHARC processors for handling audio signals, with functions for equalization, filtering, mixing and others. Access can be gained through Ethernet, RS-232/485 or analog pots and closures.
