Uli Behringer and his Music Group operation have scooped up another clutch of audio equipment brands.
The prize this time is TC Group — the home of brands such as Tannoy and TC Electronic.
Music Group already has well-known live sound equipment manufacturers such as Midas, Klark Teknik and Turbosound. From the TC Group, it will also add amplifier maker Lab.gruppen and processor maker Lake.
Besides pioneering speaker company Tannoy and TC Electronic, other parts coming along are TC Helicon, TC Applied Technologies and White Acoustics.
The Music Group also owns audio equipment maker Behringer and guitar amplifier specialist Bugera.
Behringer Founder and CEO Uli Behringer said, “We will invest heavily in positioning TC Group’s brands at the very pinnacle of the industry, as we have done with Midas, Klark Teknik and Turbosound, where we have invested over $100 million in highly-automated and integrated manufacturing facilities, quality control systems and engineering resources, including a new Center of Engineering Excellence in Manchester, U.K.”
TC Group CEO Anders Fauerskov said, “We are very honored that during the acquisition process, some of the largest industry players were bidding for TC Group; however we have selected Music Group as they represent the perfect fit in terms of strategic direction, overall synergies and company culture.”
