This series features products that won the Radio World Best of Show Award at the 2026 IBC Show. Winners were chosen for their innovation, feature set, cost efficiency and performance in serving the industry.

CreatorNode from Broadcast Bionics is a software-defined tool that runs on a small PC that you provide. It creates a software layer between affordable production hardware and professional broadcast infrastructure.

“Modern audio mixers pack a lot of production capability into increasingly affordable hardware,” the company says. “But many remain standalone islands, powerful within their own environment, yet difficult to integrate into the professional networks and workflows broadcasters rely on.”

CreatorNode allows a station or podcaster to bring mixers such as a RØDECaster into their production environment, with low-latency bidirectional AES67 audio, mixer linking, talkback and backfeeds, as well as GPIO and wider studio control.

“The principle is simple: use affordable production hardware that people already know and love, then use software to remove the limitations,” the company says.

Pressing the Record button can also trigger a connected content workflow. Rather than creating files on local removable storage, audio, video and metadata can be captured centrally through MOR>, Broadcast Bionics’ multi-object recorder.

“Individual audio sources and NDI ISO video can then be made available through central file storage or a TAMS (Time-Addressable Media Store) architecture, ready for editing, retrieval and repurposing.”

It said that for a big enterprise, this means lower-cost production hardware can become part of the professional broadcast infrastructure without creating an isolated second tier of equipment.

For a podcast or content studio, a recording can move from the mixer into a managed media workflow, with individual media objects made available through a branded production portal rather than relying on SD cards and manual file transfers.

It also supports remote production. Endpoints can operate beyond the studio, with audio, talkback and backfeeds forming part of the connected workflow.

CreatorNode supports a range of production mixers and devices.
