Heil Sound Debuts Pro 7 Headset

Gel-filled ear pads seal out noise

Heil Sound has released a new headset aimed at the ham market, but might also tease some broadcasters with its features.

The Pro 7 has gel-filled ear pads, which the company says filters out 26 dB PNR. It offers two-channel operation and a speaker balance control along with phase reversal. The drivers are 40 mm.

The boom mic is a Heil HC-7 dynamic cardioid mic. The boom can be moved 300 degrees for left-right side operation. A stainless steel headband is designed for heavy duty. The detachable coiled connecting cable features a 6-pin mini XLR connector.

Available in black, red, blue or pink.

For those hams with iCom radios, there’s an optional iC electret element cardioid boom mic with an eight-pin ADI-iC iCom adaptor cable.

Price: $276 or $289 for the iCom version.
