D&M Professional will be in Vegas touting the PMD660 Compact Digital Recorder.
It’s a handheld field unit that has stereo built-in condenser microphones with Automatic Level Control, one-touch digital recording to Compact Flash cards, on-board editing with Copy Segment, a Virtual Track Mode for playback and instant audio access to preset marked points.
The PMD660 can record for four hours running on four standard AA batteries.
Uncompressed WAV files can be recorded at 44.1 or 48 kHz, and MP3 files can be recorded in mono (at 64 kbps) or in stereo (at 128 kbps).
A standard 1 GB Compact Flash card can record over 1 hour stereo and 3 hours mono of uncompressed audio, over 17 hours of stereo MP3 and almost 36 hours of monaural MP3 audio, the supplier says. Features include two XLR mic connections with 48V phantom.
