Nautel MER AUI Screen NV Series
Nautel announced a rollout of firmware versions NV 4.0 for its NV series of FM transmitters and NX Series AM transmitters, demoing them here at the NAB Show.
“A key element to the update for both product lines is new test functionality which allows real-time measurement of MER (Modulation Error Ratio),” it said in a summary. “The measurements follow the new NRSC FM standard and do not require external equipment.”
MER metering is accessible from the company’s Advanced User Interface Constellation View display, shown, and can be viewed from the front-panel touchscreen or via Internet.
Nautel also expanded its NVLT line of analog FM transmitters, with new models at 15 kW, 20 kW, 30 kW and 40 kW. It is rolling out its PhoneHome service, announced last year. It introduced two low-power UHF TV transmitters; and it joined Omnia in announcing a collaboration providing a digital composite interface between Omnia.11 processors and Nautel NV series transmitters.
