AAT’s New Remote Monitoring Platform Allows Operators to Take Control

Available in three versions, it pairs with the EmPower mobile app

American Amplifier Technologies and subsidiary Shively Labs have launched a new product called the EmPower Controller.

Available in stock and ready to ship, it is the company’s flagship offering for remote site monitoring and control. The product is available in three versions — a standard hardware model, the more advanced EmPower Controller + IO and a software-only option.

AAT said that the platform pairs with its EmPower mobile and web app, which allows for managing broadcast and site infrastructure from any location. Through the app, operators can view and control equipment in real-time.

The pairing of the controller and the app “helps operators take control and automate their sites,” Matt Rigdon, CTO of AAT / Shively Labs, said. Data collected by the controller can be turned into actionable information within the app itself.

Additional features of the EmPower Controller include a logging interface, which has an event history and filtering for faster troubleshooting. The controller also can trigger responses automatically based on device status, alarms or custom conditions.

The IO model offers optional capabilities through analog and digital inputs, as well as relay controls for legacy integration.

For organizations running virtualized or cloud environments, the software-only version delivers monitoring and control without hardware costs. Licenses for the software version are available in perpetual or annual terms, with optional expansion packs to increase device coverage as needed, AAT said.

The American Amplifier Technologies website details price points for the EmPower Controller, which start at $1,499 USD/year for the software-based version.
