Aqua Broadcast announced an agreement with 2wcom Systems that will make 2wcom codecs available as an option in its Cobalt line of FM transmitters.
The announcement was made by Leif Cipriani, CEO of 2wcom, and Brendan Lofty, business development manager of Aqua Broadcasting.
“The soon-to-be-available IP Codec option will support a wide array of 16 different audio formats, including PCM, enhanced aptX, Opus, MP2, MP3 and all variants of AAC, such as LC, LD, ELD, ELDv2, HE, HEv2 and xHE-AAC, offering unmatched flexibility and performance for professional broadcasters,” they said in the announcement.
2wcom codecs are sold in a variety of hardware and software iterations.
The Aqua Cobalt transmitter line is available in power levels of 10 Watts to 5 kW and recently earned a Radio World “Best of Show” Award at the NAB Show. The company also recently added confidence monitoring and a tuner option.
