Avid has a new introductory version of Pro Tools, called Pro Tools Intro.
“This updated free version introduces the powerful Pro Tools Digital Audio Workstation to new creators to start turning their ideas into songs, beats and loops,” the company said in its announcement, “while bringing them into one of the music industry’s most important creative communities of award-winning artists and professionals that make up the Pro Tools ecosystem.”
It is available now as a download.
Content produced in the program is compatible with subscription versions of Pro Tools.
Features include MIDI tools, effect and instrument plugins, instructional videos and online forums.
Avid posted a comparison chart about the various versions. It said hundreds of thousands of people had used the previous entry-level version.
