Comrex announced the release of Gagl Solo, a new version of its Gagl remote connectivity platform, for individual contributors.
Solo allows for one-to-one connections to Comrex IP audio codecs, including its Access and Bric-Link models, with no subscription required. It is a subset of Gagl Standard features. The company says Solo is available worldwide at no cost.
According to Comrex, one possible use case is enabling a field correspondent to connect to the studio using equipment they already have, such as a laptop or smartphone. “Participants simply plug in a headset and click a link to transmit high-quality audio from any location,” the company stated in a release.
The audio manufacturer announced the free offering in conjunction with the Feb. 13 World Radio Day.

Gagl Standard’s subscription costs $35 per month or $350 per year and supports up to five remote contributors.
Comrex also recently announced the release of Gagl Hotline, offering the capability of HD-quality audio from mobile phones, which is available in the U.S. only.
