“It was one of the first times we combined microprocessors with analog technology”

Inovonics has stopped manufacturing its 531N FM Modulation Monitor after 20 years. That’s it and there ain’t no more.

“The model 531 has been a popular product since its launch in 2003 with over 5,000 units sold worldwide,” it said in the announcement. “The final inventory of the 531N has already been shipped and it will no longer be available for future orders.”

President/CEO Ben Barber said developing the 531 “was a challenging collaboration between founder Jim Wood and myself as it was one of the first times we combined microprocessors with analog technology.”

It has been succeeded by the 541 FM Modulation Monitor.

Inovonics highlighted the 541 for its DSP signal analysis, menu-driven touchscreen display and Webserver with access for remote operation, including measurements, graphical data and direct browser audio monitoring of the off-air program.

The 541, shown below, was introduced at the spring NAB and won the Radio World Best of Show Award at IBC-Amsterdam.
