From our Who’s Buying What page: Silicon Valley Asian Media Group is using Radio.Cloud’s playout studio and programming suite for automation.
According to the supplier, after KSJO implemented the Radio.Cloud platform, “the stations were able to quickly move out of their sizable studio operation and engineering facility to a more streamlined and cost-effective studio space in downtown San Jose.”
The cluster includes KSJO Bolly 92.3, which has a South Asian format, and its multicast channels KSJO-HD2 (Virijallu FM-Telugu), KSJO-HD3 (SaFire Radio-South Asian Podcast Channel) and KSJO-HD4 (High-Fi Dream).
All four use the Radio.Cloud browser-based operating system. Radio.Cloud highlights the platform’s ability to broadcast live from anywhere. While KSJO’s multicast channels are mostly automated, Bolly 92.3 is heavily live.
Radio.Cloud CEO and Founder Christian Brenner said Bolly 92.3 is live for several hours each day via an operation that takes place in a web browser and includes multiple live SIP calls with a call waiting feature.
Silicon Valley Asian Media Group is planning to scale its radio group into 10 to 15 more U.S. markets. Its CEO Brad Behnke was quoted in the Radio.Cloud press release: “It essentially positions our company to be able to scale quickly and efficiently providing necessary, live and locally produced content without needing an expensive office or studio complex, with the flexibility of originating a live studio from anywhere.”
