New from Tascam is the SS-R300N, a network-enabled solid-state recorder/player intended for professional audio installations that involve recording, playback and system integration.

Target uses include AV, broadcast and commercial applications like conference systems, halls and theaters.

This model is a successor to the SS-R250N. Tascam highlights significant expansion of its network functionality. “Through the built-in LAN port, a secure connection can be established directly between the unit and a server,” it states.

“The uploading and downloading of files, either manually or through automation, via FTPS client and SFTP server/client functions streamlines workflow, creating an efficient file management process without having to remove the SD card.”

It provides recording and playback resolutions of up to 96kHz/24-bit, and accommodates SDXC cards and USB flash drives. CD drives can be connected for expansion, including audio discs and AAC files.

The SS-R300N supports Open Sound Control (OSC). It can be outfitted with an optional IF-DA2 Dante expansion card, providing integration with Dante networks. It also integrates into the Q-SYS ecosystem.

Features include pre-recording, track editing, pitch adjustment, mono mix, End of Message (EOM) functions and timer-based operations such as SNTP synchronization.
