With pleasure I read Radio World’s report about the U.S. House passing the bill to implement AM radios into new cars.
The arguments from its opponents are not sufficient. Modern radio chipsets support all radio standards, with additional costs roughly measured only in cents.
AM is very important for disaster warning. Unfortunately, in Germany all AMs are switched off, while the government considers alternatives without success.
As former CEO of a major transmitter manufacturer, I argued for AM and DRM, but with limited success.
Radio World is still the best forum for broadcasting news. Best regards from Germany.
