NEW YORK —This week, Bloomberg Radio debuted a new interactive, multiplatform broadcast studio for its headline business programming at its New York headquarters.
The studio is IP audio-based and features Wheatstone LXE consoles, according to Bloomberg. Also, ten Panasonic PTZ IP cameras with “Intelligent automation for operator-less video control” and Vizrt software can be used for future TV broadcasts and the YouTube simulcast of Bloomberg’s radio programming beginning next year, a press release says. Additionally, it features a graphics display capability of 7680×1080, and talent will be able to create graphs, charts and other visual elements while on air.
“The space maximizes the power of the Bloomberg Terminal and creates an improved experience for both guests and our listeners,” Al Mayers, global head of Bloomberg Television and Radio, said in a press release.
The circular glass room was designed by director and studio designer Roger Goodman. Its exterior features two Information Canvases comprised of DesignLED 1.6mm Flexible LED tiles that display “real-time market data, news and content from advertisers,” according to Bloomberg.
The studio is sponsored by Interactive Brokers, which will also sponsor an accompanying green room, slated to debut this fall.
Bloomberg Radio can be heard on its four flagship stations in New York, Washington, Boston and San Francisco, as well as reports on 300 stations, SiriusXM channel 119 and streaming live online and via the Bloomberg Radio+ mobile app.
