Saurer Will Serve as Legal Advisor to FCC’s Wheeler

Cornell will transition to the commission’s International Bureau

WASHINGTON� Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler has named Holly Saurer to serve as legal advisor, working primarily on international and consumer affairs issues. Additionally, Diane Cornell will transition to the commission�s International Bureau, where she will serve as special advisor to the chairman.�

�Holly has a wealth of experience in communications law and policy, both inside and outside of the commission,� said Wheeler. �She has provided invaluable expertise not only for the Media Bureau but for two of my fellow commissioners.�

Saurer has previously worked as associate media bureau chief, senior legal advisor to the bureau chief and attorney-advisor with the media bureau�s Policy Division. She has also served as an acting advisor for Commissioners Jessica Rosenworcel and Mignon Clyburn. Prior to joining the FCC, she worked at the Washington offices of Drinker Biddle & Reath and Miller & Van Eaton.

Cornell has served as a key legal and policy advisor to Wheeler since he joined the FCC. She has previously served as a legal advisor to three commissioners; held leadership positions in the Wireless, International and Common Carrier Bureaus; and served as president of the Federal Communications Bar Association.
