CBS News Radio Inks New Affiliation Deals

Entercom Communications, Alpha Media and Saga Communications join the affiliate ranks

CBS News Radio has signed new affiliation agreements with Entercom Communications, Alpha Media and Saga Communications, announced CBS News Chief Financial Officer Charles Pavlounis.

The agreements are under CBS News Radio’s relationship with Skyview Networks for distribution, inventory management and sales, effective Jan. 1. CBS also renewed agreements with WBZ, Boston, and KIRO, Seattle.

CBS News Radio’s now reaches stations including Entercom Communications’ WCBS(AM), New York; KNX(AM), Los Angeles; WBBM(AM/FM), Chicago; KYW(FM), Philadelphia; KRLD(AM), Dallas; KCBS(AM), San Francisco; and KMOX(AM), St Louis; along with Saga Communications stations WGAN(AM), Portland, Maine; WTAX(AM), Springfield, Ill.; and WINA(AM) Charlottesville, Va.; plus Alpha Media’s KXL(FM) Portland, Ore., and WSGW(AM) Saginaw, Mich.

In total, CBS News Radio now delivers content to more than 450 stations.

The agreement with Entercom also includes a co-producing arrangement for a one-minute update each weekday and a two-hour weekend original program addressing veterans’ issues, both titled “Eye on Veterans.”

Also, CBS News Radio previously shared a new 2018 programming lineup, including an “FM NewsBrief.” Additionally, CBS News Radio is producing a daily audio version of the CBS This Morning “Eye Opener.”
