The Clear Channel station group in Mobile, Ala., upgraded its Phonebox Solo system to eight lines from four.
The upgrade, through a software license key, was to handle increased phone traffic during summer weather season. The Mobile chief engineer is Geoff Peacock.
Broadcast Bionics makes the PC-based broadcast telco system, which is available through BSW and Broadcasters General Store.
The manufacturer said the Clear Channel cluster is using Solo with an Asterisk Linux-based phone system, though Solo can work as a soft phone on any SIP-capable system.
