Fund Established in Memory of Buckley

Broadcasters Foundation remembers broadcasting chief

The Broadcasters Foundation of America has established a fund in honor of Buckley Broadcasting’s late President/CEO Richard D. Buckley. He passed away suddenly on July 31.

Like other efforts of the foundation, the Rick Buckley Memorial Fund is dedicated to aiding broadcasters and their families who find themselves in need.

Buckley was a member of the Broadcasters Foundation Board of Directors and had served as its treasurer. He was a past chairman of the board of the Radio Advertising Bureau and of the Southern California Broadcaster’s Association. He was a member of the board of the University of Miami and established the Richard D. Buckley Audio Lab at the University of Miami School Of Communication.

He had only recently been inducted into the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Chairman Phil Lombardo called Buckley “a highly respected community leader, broadcaster and a dear friend … Rick believed strongly in the concept of ‘giving back’ to fellow broadcasters in their time of need.”
