Ennes Workshops Are Ahead in Syracuse and Quincy

Here are the agendas for the local educational events

The SBE Ennes Workshops will be held next month in Syracuse, N.Y., and Quincy, Ill.

The workshop program was created in 1991 through the Ennes Educational Foundation Trust to bring local and affordable educational opportunities to members of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.

On June 8, the society and Central New York Chapter 22 will hold a workshop at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown. 

Topics include broadcast station cybersecurity with Wayne Pecena; software-defined EAS with Alan Jurison; basics of broadcast infrastructure with Brian Szewzyk; FCC compliance with John George; and audio considerations for TV and radio with Mike Pappas.

Registration in Syracuse includes light breakfast and lunch. The cost is $30 for SBE members, $45 for non-members and $15 for students. The event includes a product showcase sponsored by Cayuga Community College, GatesAir, Unimar and SCMS. Find more information here

Then on June 19, SBE and Illinois Chapter 49 will hold a workshop at the GatesAir Training Center in Quincy.

Topics include last-mile solutions for cloud-based broadcasting with Mike Pappas; cybersecurity with Wayne Pecena; effective communication techniques with Denise Tallcott; and an update on EAS rules with Chris Tarr.

The event includes breakfast. The cost is $25 for SBE members, $30 for non-members and free for students (though registration is still required). Info can be found here.
