iHeart Shifts Olson, Byrd and Schaflander

Turnbeaugh named SVP of programming for Nevada/central California

iHeartMedia Region Presidents Brian Olson, Linda Byrd and Justin Schaflander have had their responsibilities realigned within the Midwest Southeast Division. This will reflect that the company’s Florida stations will now be categorized into two regions: Central/North Florida and South Florida.

Olson will now become president of the South Florida Region, including West Palm Beach, Fort Pierce, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers/Naples and Punta Gorda, and will also manage day-to-day operations in the Miami market. Olson joined iHeartMedia in 2006 as SVP of sales in Miami. He has also been market president in Miami and most recently served as president of the West Palm Beach Region.

Linda Byrd will now become president of the Central/North Florida Region, which includes Orlando, Tampa/Sarasota, Jacksonville, Melbourne, Fla. and Brunswick, Ga. Byrd is a 40-year media veteran who has been with iHeartMedia since 1982. She previously oversaw operations in Orlando.

Justin Schaflander will now become president of the expanded Atlanta Region, which includes Atlanta, Augusta, Macon, Columbus/Albany, Savannah in Georgia along with Charleston, Columbia, Myrtle Beach and Florence in South Carolina. Schaflander joined iHeartMedia in 2007 as director of sports for the Atlanta Braves Radio Network. He has overseen all business aspects of the Atlanta region since 2014 and has held senior sales leadership positions.

“Under the leadership of Brian, Linda and Justin, this new organization will allow us to better align our regions’ assets and resources to improve the listener experience and client results,” said Tom McConnell, president of the Midwest Southeast Division, to whom all three will continue to report.

JoJo Turnbeaugh has also been named SVP of programming for the Nevada/Central California Region. He will report to Glynn Alan, president of the region, and Steve Geofferies, the region’s EVP of programming.

Turnbeaugh will work closely with program directors, on-air personalities and sales to oversee on-air content, digital content and music programming for radio station brands and their local events.

He previously worked as the SVP of programming for iHeartMedia Las Vegas, where he oversaw all aspects of on-air and online programming for the market’s four radio station brands. He has also served as the PD for KCCY(FM) in Colorado Springs, Colo., on-air personality for KYGO(FM) in Denver, and assistant PD for KKFN(FM) in Denver.

iHeartMedia’s Nevada/Central California Region includes radio stations in six markets.
