ILM:08 Will Explore Online Revenue

Conference in Santa Clara is put on by The Kelsey Group

A conference in California this month will look at revenue opportunities online for radio and TV stations.

It’s sponsored by The Kelsey Group, which is now part of BIA Advisory Services; this is BIA’s first conference with Kelsey since acquiring it.

Interactive Local Media 2008 is the event, to be held Nov. 19–21 in Santa Clara.

It’s Kelsey’s 16th conference devoted to digital media with a local focus; topics include online video, local search, small-business targeting, multi-channel marketing, ad networks, local mobile, the investment climate and consumer adoption of smartphones.

“We believe the introduction of more user-friendly smartphones is ushering in a new mobile paradigm where devices now offer an Internet experience that is as easy as traditional voice connectivity,” stated Kelsey’s Matt Booth in the announcement. “The implication is that users will increasingly turn to their smartphones for local commercial and social search experiences.”

Executives from Comcast, NBC and Google will participate in the panel “Leveraging Traditional Media’s Strengths Online,” co-moderated by Rick Ducey of BIA and Peter Krasilovsky of The Kelsey Group.
