Sales and profitability in the broadcast and media technology sector show “marked improvements.”
That’s the report from trade association IABM, which tracks business in the sector. The 61 companies covered include TV and radio manufacturers and are mostly based in North America and Europe.
The index shows global sales increased 13.7% year on year. A falling monthly trend reported up to May has “turned around.” Large companies showed the best growth, up 13–15%.
“Seventy-nine percent of companies are now in profit, which is the highest amount in the history of the survey and up from 74% in May,” IABM stated. “This is particularly evident in the North American market where a significant proportion of companies have recently turned losses into profits.” Profit performance remains much better in Europe than North America.
