North State Public Radio Names New GM

Phil Wilke will also manage KCHO and KFPR

North State Public Radio has hired Phil Wilke to serve as the media organization’s general manager, also leading Chico, Calif.’s KCHO(FM) and Redding’s KFPR(FM).

Wilke most recently served as the director of membership and community outreach for KRWG Public Media in Las Cruces, N.M. Prior to that, he was media manager for Kansas Public Radio. In his earlier career, Wilke worked as an editor, columnist and reporter for Kansas newspapers including the Lawrence Journal-World and the Topeka Capital-Journal. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where he studied journalism and broadcasting.

North State Director of University Public Engagement Stephen Cummins served as the search committee chairman.
