The installation of the NTP technology is part of a major upgrade and expansion of master control equipment at RAI Radio facilities in Rome.

Following a tender process, the radio division of RAI placed the contract with Milan-based Comteck Video Enterprise (CVE), Italian distributor of NTP.

The project involves exchanging and expanding an existing NTP AES/EBU and analog audio routing system ? as well as adding full redundancy ? at two sites, one in central Rome and the other in the outskirts of the city.

The router control system incorporates an NTP 660 Visual Matrix Control window surface. The NTP 625 audio router installed features a combination of analog and AES/EBU inputs and outputs, configured in accordance with specific RAI requirements.
